So, I don’t know about you guys, but when I heard that Kendare Blake was releasing 2 new novellas I was SO hyped. I read and loved Three Dark Crowns as well as the sequel, and I was so ready to go back into that world. And y’all, I was not disappointed.
Uncover the sisters’ origins, dive deep into the catastrophic reign of the Oracle Queen, and reveal layers of Fennbirn’s past, hidden until now.
The Young Queens
Get a glimpse of triplet queens Mirabella, Arsinoe, and Katharine during a short period of time when they protected and loved one another. From birth until their claiming ceremonies, this is the story of the three sisters’ lives…before they were at stake.
The Oracle Queen
Everyone knows the legend of Elsabet, the Oracle Queen. The one who went mad. The one who orchestrated a senseless, horrific slaying of three entire houses. But what really happened? Discover the true story behind the queen who could foresee the future…just not her own downfall.
Queens of Fennbirn has 2 novellas- The Young Queens and The Oracle Queen. The Young Queens HURT MY SOUL, but in a very good way. It follows the sisters when they are young, still sisters and not enemies. It was absolutely heartbreaking, but so beautiful.
The Oracle Queen was a tightly plotted masterpiece, a testament to Kendare Blake’s skills with character development and worldbuilding. I adored the new characters that we met, and I was so happy to see some of the other gifts (the War gift and Oracle gift) at work.
Final rating- 5/5
Thanks for reading my review, and until next time, happy reading 🙂
